Best practices to be followed when using smartphones and emails, other websites
- Never, Never, Never! share your otp/password/pin of any kind with anyone even if the person claims to be the CEO of your credit card company/bank
- Setup sms and email alerts on all your credit cards and bank accounts. That way you are alerted everytime your account is debited
- Do not click on any links received from any suspicious emails/messaages as they maybe a attempt to hack into your computer or bank accounts
- Do not download any app/software on your laptop or smartphone on the advise of anyone claiming to call from your Bank or financial institution
- In the event that you are a victim of a cyber crime, immediately report it to the financial institution/agency that holds your account Example your credit card issuing bank/paytm
- Do not share any information including your insurance policy details, expiry dates, or any other credit or debit card/policy related information with any third party
- If you receive a “Collect Request” which claims by giving some information you will receive a credit/refund/cash back into your account, PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK AND SHARE ANY INFORMATION. Intimate the bank’s customer care immediately if you receive any such email
- If you receive an email/message from a friend or relative claiming to be in trouble, and requesting for some financial assistance, do not act on it till you have personally spoken to the said individual and mad an alternate arrangement to assist them
